Cancellation Policy

Alora Reserve does not apply one blanket cancellation policy across the register. Each property is owned separately, and the cancellation terms for your stay are set out in full in the written reservation agreement you sign before any payment is taken.

This page explains how those terms work and what to expect, so there are no surprises when the agreement arrives.

Where your cancellation terms live

Your reservation agreement states, in writing and before you pay anything: the deposit required, the payment schedule, the dates on which cancellation charges change, and what is refundable at each stage. Those written terms govern. Nothing on this page overrides them.

How cancellation terms are set

Terms vary by property and by booking because the commitments behind them vary. The main factors are:

• How far out you book. Longer notice generally means more flexible terms.
• The dates themselves. Peak periods — awards season, festival weekends, holidays — carry firmer terms, because a cancelled week at short notice cannot realistically be resold.
• Length of stay. Long-term and monthly stays are treated differently from short stays.
• Staffing and third-party commitments. Where we have engaged a chef, drivers, security or other vendors on your behalf, costs already committed are not refundable once incurred.

Before you sign

Read the cancellation section of the agreement, and call us if any part of it is unclear. We will explain exactly what you would owe at each point between signing and arrival. If the terms on a particular house do not work for you, tell us — on some properties we can negotiate them, and on others we will say so honestly and suggest a house where we can.

Changes to dates

A date change is not the same as a cancellation, and is often easier to accommodate. If your plans move, call us before cancelling. We will try to shift the booking rather than lose it.

If we have to cancel

If a property becomes unavailable through no fault of yours, we will offer a comparable alternative from the register or return everything you have paid us. Where your agreement contains an exclusivity provision for a specific property, that provision governs and we will honour it.

Travel insurance

For a booking of this size we recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation. We do not sell it and we receive nothing if you buy it.
