**In short:** Super Bowl LXI will be played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on 14 February 2027. Luxury villa inventory across Los Angeles for that weekend typically commits nine to twelve months ahead, minimum stays lengthen, and rates bear no relation to an ordinary February. If you want a house rather than a hotel room for Super Bowl week, the decision window is now — not January.

## Why the date matters more than usual

Super Bowl LXI lands on Valentine's Day 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. It is the second Super Bowl at SoFi in five years — the stadium also hosted Super Bowl LVI in 2022.

What makes this one different is the company it keeps. Los Angeles hosted FIFA World Cup matches in 2026, hosts Super Bowl LXI in 2027, and opens the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2028. Three global events in three consecutive years, all anchored at the same stadium. The city knows it, the hospitality market knows it, and inventory behaves accordingly.

For anyone planning to be here that weekend, the practical consequence is simple: you are not competing for a house against other Super Bowl visitors alone. You are competing in a market that has spent three years learning exactly what these weekends are worth.

## What Super Bowl week actually looks like in Los Angeles

The game is one afternoon. The week around it is the reason people rent houses.

From roughly the Tuesday before, the centre of gravity shifts. Brand activations take over venues across Hollywood and downtown. Private parties run every night from Wednesday, most of them in the hills rather than in hotels. Media, sponsors, agencies and team partners arrive in groups of eight to twenty, and they arrive needing somewhere to both sleep and host.

That is the shape of the demand, and it explains why hotel suites stop working. A group hosting forty people for drinks on Thursday cannot do it in a hotel room, and a hotel will not let them. A villa with a terrace, a pool and a bar does the job — which is why the houses that can host go first, and go earliest. Worth saying plainly before you plan one: events need prior arrangement at every house on our register, with conditions on hours, headcount and noise.

## Where to base yourself: SoFi versus the parties

There is a genuine trade-off here and it is worth thinking about before you look at any house.

**SoFi is in Inglewood**, south-west of the city, near LAX. It is not near the Hollywood Hills, Beverly Hills or the Sunset Strip. Game day traffic into Inglewood is severe and most groups end up using a car service regardless of where they sleep.

**The parties are not in Inglewood.** They are in West Hollywood, the Hollywood Hills, Beverly Hills and downtown. Almost every group we place for a Super Bowl week chooses proximity to the events over proximity to the stadium, because they spend one afternoon at SoFi and five nights everywhere else.

Our own register sits in the hills above the Strip and across Beverly Hills, Bel Air and the Valley. That is deliberate: it is where the week actually happens.

## How pricing behaves that weekend

We quote rates on request rather than publishing them, and Super Bowl week is the clearest example of why a published number would mislead you.

Three things move at once. **The rate rises sharply** — a Super Bowl week is not priced like an ordinary February week on the same house. **Minimum stays lengthen**: owners who normally accept three nights will often require five or seven across that window, and some require the full week. And **terms tighten** — deposits are larger, payment schedules move earlier, and cancellation terms on a peak-event booking are firmer than they would be in March.

None of that is unusual or unreasonable. It is simply what happens when a fixed supply of houses meets a date that cannot move. But it does mean the honest answer to "what will it cost" requires your actual dates, your headcount and whether you intend to host. Call and you will have a real figure the same day.

## When to book

The best houses for a weekend like this are committed nine to twelve months out. Some are committed earlier still, by groups who stayed for a previous event and simply rebooked.

With the game in February 2027, that puts the serious booking window across late 2026 and the first weeks of 2027. What is left by January will be what nobody wanted in the autumn, priced as though it were.

If your plans are not final — and for most groups they are not, because nobody knows who is playing until the conference championships — that is workable. What matters is having the conversation early enough that we can hold something suitable while the details settle, rather than starting the search after the teams are known and every other group starts at the same moment.

## What a group should actually be looking for

A few things matter more that week than they do in a normal booking.

**Parking.** In the hills this is the constraint nobody anticipates. If ten people arrive in six cars and the house has three spaces, the week starts badly. Ask about on-site parking before bedrooms.

**Whether the house can host.** Not every property permits gatherings, and the ones that do permit them with conditions on hours, headcount and noise. A house that sleeps ten is not automatically a house that can host sixty. Ask directly, and get the answer in writing.

**Separate suites.** Groups travelling for work want their own bathrooms. Five king suites with five en-suites is a very different proposition from five bedrooms sharing three bathrooms, and it is the single most common regret we hear.

**Somewhere to watch.** Half of any Super Bowl group does not go to the game. A private theatre or a proper screening setup earns its keep that Sunday afternoon.

## Three houses that work for that week

[**Thrasher Aerie**](https://www.alorareserve.com/houses/thrasher-aerie) — Bird Streets. Five king suites, nine bathrooms, sleeps ten. Private theatre, infinity-edge pool, glass-enclosed wine cellar, designer bar and retractable glass walls onto a terrace built for exactly this kind of evening. Four minutes from the Sunset Strip.

[**Thrush Eyrie**](https://www.alorareserve.com/houses/thrush-eyrie) — Bird Streets. Five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, sleeps ten, with a tennis court, basketball court, private theatre, sauna and cold plunge. Parks eight cars in the garage plus four gated spaces, which for this week matters as much as the amenities.

[**Viewmont Skyterrace**](https://www.alorareserve.com/houses/viewmont-skyterrace) — above the Sunset Strip. Five bedrooms, five bathrooms, sleeps ten, with a private theatre. One bathroom per bedroom, which for a working group is the detail that decides the mornings.

We hold forty-four houses across Los Angeles and these are three of them. Tell us the headcount and whether you are hosting, and we will send the three that actually fit.

## And then 2028

Worth knowing if you are planning further ahead: the Olympic Games open in Los Angeles on 14 July 2028, with ceremonies at both the Coliseum and SoFi Stadium, closing on 30 July. The Paralympic Games run 15 to 27 August.

Villa bookings for an Olympic host city typically close roughly two years out, and a Games is a two-to-six-week stay rather than a weekend. If that is on your horizon, the conversation is already overdue.

## Questions

### When is Super Bowl LXI and where is it being played?

Sunday 14 February 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

### How far in advance should I book a villa for Super Bowl weekend in Los Angeles?

Nine to twelve months ahead for the best houses. Groups often rebook a year out having stayed for a previous event. By January, what remains is largely what was passed over in the autumn.

### Should I stay near SoFi Stadium or in the Hollywood Hills?

Most groups choose the hills. SoFi is in Inglewood, near LAX, while the parties and activations run through West Hollywood, the Hollywood Hills, Beverly Hills and downtown. You spend one afternoon at the stadium and the rest of the week elsewhere.

### Is there a minimum stay for Super Bowl week?

Usually yes. Houses that accept three nights in an ordinary week often require five, seven or the full week across a peak event window.

### Can I host a party at a rented villa during Super Bowl week?

Events need prior arrangement at every house, always with conditions on hours, headcount and noise, and usually requiring insurance. A house that sleeps ten is not automatically cleared to host sixty. Ask before booking and get the terms in writing.

### What about the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles?

The Games open on 14 July 2028 and close on 30 July, with the Paralympics running 15 to 27 August. Villa bookings for an Olympic host city generally close around two years ahead, and stays run two to six weeks rather than a weekend.
